I know the consensus is often 'not worth the paper they are written on' but mine with one of the major companies is due at the end of Oct and I wondered if anyone had recommendations on warranty companies as mine has gone up suignificantly this year. I have a 2005 Merc E320 and the renewal quite with a franchises dealer is £451. I can get 3 years with a certain Gibralter based company who are part of a South African group for £625.

My experiences of claiming this year with my current company were not good. All of the 'hire car' promises were useless as they only cover the period when the car is being repaired and then only for the 'fit time' so for the 3 weeks it took them to authorise repair and get the parts delivered I was without a car. They don't cover for cleaning consequential damage, for example oil in the intercooler/exhaust after the turbo failed and even argued over replacing the oil!
