4.2 to 4.5 upgrade
Discussion
Yes, did the same thing in January.
It may of course depend on what 4.2 you have, but I changed mainly for these reasons.
1) My 4.2 was a 96 (clatter cams, original clutch etc) and was bought as an entry level.
2) I wanted to stay long term with a Cerbera, so wanted the full monty with low mileage.
3) The 4.5 has a higher value rating, especially with all the right conversions.
Naturally that is only a summary of why I changed and if it is for any of these reasons
you are thinking, let me know and I'll expand on it.

Any one tried it? is it worth while? will I get my money back?
If you're talking about "upgrades" to your current car, I'd say a general rule of thumb is that you'll never get back more than half the money you put in. And that's if the upgrades are universally desirable.

It'll only be worth your while if your selling a common blue one and buying a more desirable colour.
You'll not notice much difference in the two motors so if your car is running good and is ticking all your boxes, stick to what you know.
If your going 96 to post 2000, you will notice improvements, but if its just the engine you want bigger then not really worth the bother.
