Is it still an issue with M cars that you can't warranty a car with a late run-in service, or have they done away with that now?

Thanks

I wouldn't say they have done away with it but they haven't put any official parameters on this.

Some people say anything over 1700 and youre screwed however I know factually that this is untrue.

I owned an e46 m3 that was an AUC car, that was sold to me with a running in service at 2100 miles. I was unaware of these caveats in 2006 and when highlighted to the supplying dealer, I received a letter from BMW AG and Customer Services stating that this would in no way affect any future claims.

The letter was PDF'd and no claims were denied.

Then onto my CSL. It was the perfect car but the run in service was performed at 1800 miles. I was hesitant about the scaremongery on all forums but again received written confirmation that this would not matter. I went on to have the Vanos replaced and a few other bits with no issues or reference to the 'late' run in service.

But this still didn't stop me making sure my e90 m3 had its run in service at bang on 1200 and also my z4m had its run in service at 1212 miles.

On a car that is out of warranty, it would be less of an issue.

Whats the car in question?
