Throttle cable
Discussion
After a blast around the Nuerburgring yesterday I noticed my throttle felt a bit 'loose'. Anyway I've had a look just now and can see that the cable is nearly frayed through at the pedal end. s

Is it an awkward job to replace it? As I am in Germany at the minute I have limited tools so I am hoping that it is.

Mine went recently, from a few frayed cables to completely breaking was not very long.
Changing the whole lot is a pig because of the way it is routed around the clutch master cyclinder.
After searching the forums I went with an easier fix which was to remove the old cable internal and threading a new internal using a brake cable from a mountain bike and then fitting an adjustable nipple from a motorist centre.
Whole job cost £3 and took about 30 minutes. I bought a spare cable and nipple for the boot just in case it doesn't stand the test of time.

The cable I bought had one nipple already on it, this one went on the pedal end, the adjustable nipple went in the engine bay. Think it would be a nightmare trying to do it the other way round as access to the throttle pedal is rubbish! When you do it put the driver seat all the way back, fully recline it and lay with your head in the footwell and your feet on the parcel shelf...sounds weird but it gives you the best access!
