The top link is the 90bhp 1.6 engine if this doesn’t bother you go for it, most prefer the earlier 115bhp 1.6 or the 1.8s.
The second one looks ok, rare to see a cloth seat with that much wear my last mx5 the seats were still perfect at 120k plus that aside looks ok for the money, but check for rust, as this is the single most important consideration to any mk1 mx5 these days.

I went to look at that 2nd link you posted. Yellow one.

It has recently been completely resprayed and outer sills repaired (allegedly). No history except a couple of MOTs and holes in inner sills both sides front and rear.

I walked away. Can provide more info via email if you want (PM me).

I picked my car up 2 weeks ago:

http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0...

Cost me £1200 for the car, extra set of wheels, hard top, tonneau cover and plate which I have been offered a couple of hundred pounds for.

Took it to MX5 motors for a srevice and inspection at the weekend, they say she is a good car!

Thank god.

130bhp of mx5 goodness, plus extras worth about £700!

It had no history except the last 2 MOTs, a risk you take really!

I've been trying to contact the 2nd link (yellow one) for 2 days now.
I think I'll steer clear!

Just to throw another towin the mix this one is on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&am...

They will end the auction for £1500 which was the max I wanted to spend but does look like a nice car

Or this one which needs a bit of tidying but a good price

the first one looks very clean for the money, but you need to look very carefully for rust, as would be rare for uk car over 20 years old not to have rusty sills, but that might be an exception.

I really like the look of that 90bhp one! If you do go and see it but decide against it, please let me know if it's any good!
