Anyone remapped an x30i (258ps)???

Basically, has anyone had this done and was it worth the money? Had my e90 330d done and obviously the improvement massive! But curious if it's worth it with the petrol motor with the only small bhp/torque gains, like driveability, responsiveness, economy improvements??

A few guys on babybmw have done it to their 130i's, obviously theres not massive gains to be had as it's a normally aspirated engine, but IIRC it improves throttle response and gains about 15-20bhp IIRC so probably worth doing.

Are you going with evolve? Tell me how it goes very intrigue to hear...

I emailed simon at emaps and will at ptorque. Both similar price but Will has said he should be able to get 279bhp and 241 torque for me... So i gave hime a call as that seemed optimistic and he seem very confident saying he'd give me full before and after rolling road! Done a few before apparently and this was what his map delivers. Very very tempted

I'm having it done at Evolve. I spoke with Simon at emaps a few months back (really helpful guy) but he doesn't have the gear to remap a facelift car (only prefacelift and it involves removing the ecu and a certain amount of desoldering and resoldering).

Evolve had the kit to do it (via the OBD port) so I went with them. Simon did a freinds 130 and that achieved a 20hp increase so this seems to be whats achievable.

The headline power sounds good but looking at the graph on that thread the biggest gains are low down. at 1700rpm the mapped car is putting out over 30lb/ft more.

I think it's crucial to get before and after power runs as without that it's pretty meaningless, all the guys seem to offer this as far as I can see.

So it's going to be a 130i (mapped) !!!!

Had my car mapped yesterday at evolve.

Stock power was recorded at 268.9. Thas was on v power and I have the bmw performance intake and exhaust.

After the remap it made 280, both before and after the max was achieved at 6500. Torque peaked at 2600ish at 262lb/ft (previous max 252 at same rpm). There was at least 240lb/ft from 2300 to 6000. Torque was up 8-10lb ft all across that range.

I'd definately say it picks up better especially in the mid range where the torque increase gets up to 12lb/ft in a couple of places.

Was your motor the 272ps then? Just that i was expecting to get those sort of figure from my 258ps motor or should i say thats what i have been told to expect.

Still it sounds pretty good.. mines in on the 25th.

The 130i doesnt have the 272bhp engine so no, rm's car does have the intake and exhaust though which would easily account for the 10bhp or so above stock to start with.
