Hi. Can anybody help? I have a very old trailer with wheels which are, frankly, well passed their sell-by date. The trailer has Indispension units which are (just about) functioning.

However, I'm not sure what wheels to source, and it seems these old steels are far from worth refurbishing. Can anybody suggest where to start? I've got a couple of (dark, poor) photos - see below - but there is nothing that I can see on the wheels themselves (perhaps there might be, under the rust). The tyres are 155R12 (M+S, would you believe!).

Any suggestions?

Thanks! I'm posting this into the Kit Cars forum, too, as specialists in cuckoo parts smile

Might be worth googling trailer specialists in your area.
The most important factor is the PCD and offset of the wheels.

In rural parts, such as down here in Devon, you can get trailer wheels pretty easily (lots of trailer specialists), farm/country stores sell both tyres and steelies in common sizes, and even the local ATS has a wide selection of trailer tyres.

TBH, as long as the metal under the rust is sound, those steelies could still be OK.

Fairly sure that they are Hillman Imp range. Twelve inch diameter were standard and at one time they were popular for trailer use. If you use Google images for Hillman Imp, the pattern of the wheel seems to match.

My vote goes for the Hillman Imp too. 4 x 12 if from a Mark 1, 4.5 x 12 if Mark 2.

PCD should be 4 inches. Don't know what the offset would be, but as the Imp was RWD, probably something close to zero.
