Flare

Which lens has a flair for flare? Seems every manufacturer is coating them to hell and back trying to remove flare but I kinda like it, when I want it.

Not sure I have anything thats realy good, looking for a fast prime sometime soon hopefully that will do it

So what lenses do you have with good / bad flare?

Heres some of mine, first two from this morning.

Sigma 70-200f2.8 ex HSM, rather like this:


Canon 50 f1.8 , again not too bad:


One from a while ago from the sigma 10-20, its OK adds to the picture but a little uncontrolled and you get a green blob all the time which isnt nice.


My favorite so far is the sigma 120-300f2.8, shame I had to hand it back!

I love flare too! Not just the globules but the colourful haze as well.

Using cheap cokin filters helps a lot with getting flares and other interesting phenomenon!

No actual flares but certainly a haze from shootig into the sun. Sigma 100-300 f4.

Few here:

135mm:
It seems pretty resistant, only really reacting when you take steps to really provoke it to flare. Even then it seems to lighten the opposite corner with a bit of 'haze' before properly flaring (like in the final shot)...







50mm f1.4...
