Off on business to Stockholm this weekend and I will have a couple of days off out there (Sat & Mon).

What's nice to do / see in the city?

Vasa museum http://www.vasamuseet.se/en/

Near there is Nordiska museum, chocolate exhibition and choc market this weekend.

Boat tours of the canals and archipelago, dozens to choose from. Sounds cheesy I know but the tours are quite good.

Gamla Stan (Old Town) http://www.old-town-stockholm.com/

Restaurant? If you want just one really really good restaurant and in good company. F12 http://www.f12.se/

John Cleese doing his one man show until Sunday.

Wrap up warm. It's zero at the moment, and we have the first good cold spell of the winter, winds from North. So forecsat will be sunny blue skies, 6C tops, -1C after dark. Gets dark about 6:30ish.
Monday might be foggy and not much warmer. frown

What else?

Thanks for that thumbup

All looks good, I think the restaurant is a little out of my expenses range though hehe

The wife is coming over with me, which is a rare treat for her, so I'm sure she will be spending the day she has by herself at the chocolate place!

More reasonably priced restaurant? http://www.grill.se/

Eating out in the city is expensive cf UK, the trick is to find somewhere that is not a tourist rip off.

I'll find some more pointers and get back.

Old story I tend not to eat out too much in Stockholm, usually just a lunch restaurant of which there are zillions.

I've been to Norway and Denmark recently so I'm aware (as are my employers) as to how expensive eating out can be, so I try and find more local places. Grill looks good though

Try Erik's bar Gondolen fantastic views

Try Blå Dörren traditional Swedish food with lower prices

Also the Medeltids museum is free and apparently very good.
