New Zonda 'swansong' emerges. Is that it Horacio?

Spare a thought for Horacio Pagani as he struggles to replace the Zonda with its 'C9' successor. Well-heeled customers just keep rocking-up with demands for special editions of the outgoing model, seemingly oblivious to the tantalising prospect of a new one.

Perhaps they know something we don't? Or maybe some customers just never learned to wait...

The latest Zonda is called the 750, and is based on the Cinque of which only five were supposed to have been built. The 750 differs with a revised rear window/intake design and a lurid purple paint job, so those Cinque owners needn’t get huffy. We're not sure if the 750 is a one-off or not, as a little bird tells us three may be on the cards - although this one's purple paint job makes it unique.

Pagani hasn't revealed details of the power or performance, but most speculators are speculating that the name 750 refers to the output in horsepower from the car's AMG-built V12. The purple monster's buyer is from the Middle East, so we're possibly helping to pay for his new Pagani with every litre of V-Power we pump. In which case we trust he appreciates our generous support.

I'm still confused about those rear spoilers though.

The original Zonda had a full-width one, yet the later S models, and 7.3's had a split rear spoiler as it was meant to be 'better'... yet for a while now they are back to full width.

I'm curious why the split spoiler is now not better again, and a full width one is.

just imagine what the Veyron would have been like, if VW had outsourced the design to Pagani instead of Dualit, as cartoonish as they may be, they have far far more presences than the Bugatti 4 slice with muffin rack

Another profit maker for Horacio. There is a good "Carbon Fibre" story in EVO magazine this month about the first Lamborghini Countach in carbon fabricated by Horacio who only left to start Pagani when Lamborghini wouldn't buy him an autoclave to continue the carbon models. Now Lamborghini have the first totally carbon car so how will Horacio react with his next car?

Horacio must be gutted, new model in the bag people queing up to buy it, used Zondas still a fortune only making very limited numbers of new ones and people still come banging on his door waving stupid amounts of cash his way. It must be a hard life.

nah lotus still have both of them beat, pagani are starting to look a bit daft with their final final editions though Who wants to bet on a roadster version of this coming out in 6 months time?

Apart from the obvious attention to detail, skill and general result as a driving tool, I struggle to like these...the back end looks a mess and the canopy is too tall and reminds me of a big bead of water thats happened to have landed on an LMP1 race car.
But given this was basically his first attempt...I'm looking forward to something totally new from Pagini... He's done what SO mnay have failed to do..

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but I have to disagree.

The latest cars are just too OTT for me. Design wise I think the Zonda peaked with the C12S.

The latest cars are just too fussy with too much stuff going on to make it a cohesive design.


They just seem to be arab fashion statements these days.
