Looking to get a towbar fitted - the genuine article isnt cheap but they have agreed to do it for a good discount BUT having difficulty getting them tied down to do it, so.....

...if I take my new Skoda to an independent towbar fitter does it invalidate the cars 3 year warranty?

Is your warranty void if you put mats in the car? Mudflaps? Put your shopping in the boot?

Why on earth would fitting a towbar void the whole warranty of the car?

I guess the only issue that could arise would be if you had an electrical fault, and it looked to be caused by the wiring of the tow bar...

If not using an 'approved' product/fitter, don't be surprised if there is an issue with the warranty if you ever need it. Worth phoning and asking the question IMO.

Apparently there would be warranty issues so I'm stuck waiting on them to get back to me again.

They cant give me a price at the minute (well, the past 2 days actually) because there Internet connection is down!! Unbelievable! Does nobody use phonelines for talking anymore?
