I have just returned from a drive and on the way home my XJ8 (308) 4.0, developed a flicker running through the dashboard lights, when I increase the engine revs the flicker gets faster. I put my dipped headlights on and they have a flicker also as do the tail and numberplate lights????????????
Does anyone have any idea what is going on?
Thanks in advance for your input.

Sounds like alternator.

If they still exist, Take it off and get it tested by a specialist.

Make sure that the power steering pipe hasn't rubbed through the back of the alternator this was a recall a long time ago but I bet some cars missed
Make sure this is checked as I could cause a fire.
