If they are not already H4 converted then that is the next move..IMHO you will need to upgrade the bonnet loom from 9 core to 14 core wiring along with renewing the earth at the same time.

Adrian's too quick. I was going to suggest adding an extra five candles a side.
If they are already H4s, are high wattage bulbs legal in Britain?

Higher wattage bulbs are not legal, but at least you can see where you are going! You can get 130/90's or 100/90's. I used to run the latter.

Thank you, sounds a bit technical, but shall investigate.

With higher power bulbs, you must beef up the bonnet wiring, as Adrian says, and don't forget to beef up the ground as well (especially if you have a plug in bonnet)

A 100W lamp will draw 8.5 Amps, so two would be 17 Amps, not an insignificant current

I added H4 lamps to the vixen along with these bulbs which I think are a great improvement over standard :-

I later added relays and new wiring but more to protect the dash switches as the bulbs are similar power to standard sealed units. I am not sure if you need to do this on a taimar, do they already have relays?

So you can stay legal, only draw the same current from your system and get a great improvement at the same time!

Cheers,
Paul.

No headlamop relays as standard on a Taimar, I put in fusible relays to save the switches
