When I sold my MR2 on there the "motors" section was the exception to that pernicious little rule. Not sure if that is still the case.
TBH I just do most stuff as collection only and cash on collection every buyer so far has complied- when people e-mail me asking to post I get them to pay by BACS.
Anyway, have you had it on PH classifieds, that's where the Audi went, and it didn't cost me anything.

I thought Motors was one of the few exceptions to the universal PayPal policy?I've sold a couple of cars on there, although low value stuff in the £500 sort of range. Think it cost about £20 or so in fees at that price level.
The main difficulty I've found is you need to keep monitoring the listing and filtering out buyers who are clearly bidding to, as I believe they would put it, "reserve the car for a viewing". (It's usually obvious from the feedback profile and response or lack thereof to e-mails; you just have to hope no-one like that turns up in the last minute.)

Also given the fees, ebay can jog if they think they can cream the fees on the payment as well as the sale. The whole thing has become daylight robbery and they offer so little protection to sellers over buyers anyway.
