Has anyone experienced this before. Car runs normally when weather nice, but as soon as it rains it won't idle properly and just cuts out!

Also is a bridgestone SO2 the same as an SO2 Potenza. I've just had 2 rear SO2's fitted and the wet weather grip is terrible! They do look the same as the front potenzas

Cheers

Had a Ducati once and the air box used to fill with water in the rain......

..one minute you'd be on a 750 twin, into a bend on a 375 single and then while you were still banked over it would cough.

Potenza sounds alright - have you checked pressures? (meant to be constructive, not rude!) Otherwise, getting them spinning in the dry is possible let alone the wet!!!

PS have they been on long enough to "cure" yet - until then they're bound to be "interesting"?

Also, check the tyres are on the right way round - they're directional. One direction = on the road, the other = in a ditch.

Check the pressures - last time I had rears fitted I had a (polite) argument with the dealer who insisted on putting 30psi in them. Felt VERY loose exiting the M4 at J7 later that day.

If the car cuts out in the wet, then something's getting wet that shouldn't. Are you talking mega rain or driplets? I assume the former. All the fuses/ECU bits 'n bobs are in the passenger footwell - maybe there's a drip getting in there? Or maybe the fuel pump connectors are loose - under the car inside the NSR wheel, you'l have to lie down and reach all the way in to fiddle with it.

What a corner that is! Load the suspension and slide round.

I had the very same problem, it was water getting to the hot wire of the air flow meter.....after months of head scratching I found a tear in the air hose, water was running down the bonnet onto the hose and in through the hole. Got a new pipe and it never happened again. As for your tyres, they will take a while to cure
