Morning all,

A friend of mine is shortly due to go off around south-east Asia travelling, and has been looking for insurance.

When I went, I used STA Travel, who covered everything I needed. My friend however has some very specific requirements, a couple of which aren't covered by STA. These items are:

a) covers medical up to at least £5m
b) specifically states ‘search and rescue’ cover (if you need to be air lifted etc…)
c) covers Zip Wiring
d) covers Scuba Diving, unqualified
e) Covers trekking/climbing to 5000m (well, 4095m - climbing Mt. Kinabalu)
f) Covers moped use (with helmet, but with points on licence, which rules out STA!)
g) Covers sailing

Would appreciate any recommendations anyone may have, and then happy to look up the policy wording on them myself to check..!

Cheers.

Yes, I got your problem, you need that all cover to her mate, who is not insured, okay......check single trip travel insurance offered by multitrip.com, it may be finish your search. I have encountered a problem while on tour de france, after that I am using multitrip since 2007.

I would think World Nomads would be their best bet:

http://www.worldnomads.com/insurance.aspx

They cover all the Lonely Planet people on their adventures and specialise in long-term travel insurance smile

Yes, Moose, You may be right ! But is World Nomads covers 4095 m climbing ? So many insurance companies are there but all of them are not offering all the coverages, for backpacking she should surely go with backpacker insurance , this insurance can provider her all the coverage which is in the above list in fact she can customize her insurance and can select the coverage she need and can ignore which is of not use, this helps her to decrease the total cost she is about to spend on backpacking insurance.
