Swmbo does it regularly. 4 hours is realistic enough. She doesn't bother but if it's me driving then I go via Edinburgh to avoid the M80 roadworks between Stirling & Glasgow.

as above, drove up last month. Its slow around glasgow I have started going Edinburgh/Moffat now as my prefered route.

Oh and if you going form home and taking the R32 may i suggest going over glenshee to Perth, its a hoot of a road.

Came back that way just over a week ago...always puts a smile on your face. smilesmile

Only problem was a 40 year old Landrover towing a horse trailer with way too much weight in it and a couple of cars following it which had no intention of overtaking. furiousfurious

I drove down that way and back at the weekend. The only roadworks to note are those near Glasgow on the M80 which will be a real pain at rush hour. I went through them at 8am on the Saturday and 2am on the Monday and never got held up, but was stuck for 45 minutes a few months back on a Thursday evening.

Nope, picking up Mrs Leftys new Forester - 2.5XT. smile

Have driven the Glenshee road a few times, it's a belter! Got to get down and back by 7pm or so because we're going out at night. Long day.
