Grumbling Steering

Recently noticing a grumbling whining noise at parking speeds, no not the mrs, coming from the front suspension when a lot of lock is applied,steering feels fine otherwise.

Wondering if its the power steering pump is playing up? the car just had an MOT very recently so the suspension joints would have been checked for wear I would imagine.

Any thoughts welcome.

Had this on mine once, turned out to be nothing more than the power steering fluid had got a bit low. topped up and been fine since. Certainly first port of call as its a nice easy fix, you may not be as lucky of course but then you never know.

Was the same with mine, topped up and all fine.

Well, I checked the power steering fluid reservoir, embarrassingly it was empty,opps!

Does anyone know off hand what spec of fluid should I use?

TVR specify Mobil ATF 220 - but any good ATF that meets Dexron IID.
