So who has one?

And what's the best channel for general chatter?

What's going on will depend greatly on where you live, CB doesn't have a huge range (legally at least).

I've been scanning the CB and PMR frequencies recently, nothing around my way, although I do need a better antenna.

I have CB fitted in my Legacy...

On a recent trip to the ring it was one of them 'how could we have done it without it'.

Navigating 14 cars through Brussells Ring road, through all the traffic and generally keeping all in check especially when only 2 out of the 14 cars know where they are going. I cannot recommend CB enough for a 2 car + convoy.

Plus i got a tannoy speaker behind my bumper... makes traffic ques in London interesting...lol

why not look to going down the ham radio route, times have changed a lot in getting a licence, its so much easier now and opens up a world (literaly) of possabilities.

Got one in the Hilux for offroading.

General chatter is often around the low 20's.

The "breaker breaker" stuff isn't used anymore.

Really?

I mean, I sat through 'Convoy' in 1982 as a means of formal training for CB use. -And now you're telling me this is out of date?

I'm going to have to re-adjust my plans.

10 - 4. Thats a negative good buddy.

...it seemed to me that the CB fraternity was made up of:

a. Truckers
b. sad people in bedrooms
c. Capri owners with huge whippy aerials

Or to sumarise: people that would like to have sex with you and then kill you.

Set mine up temporarily in my work hack, haven't been able to raise anyone yet though, I've got it set on U, and then have the 40 channels, is that right?

Metal Maniac for a radio check! If I could get a small normal looking aerial then I would fit one in my cars. But having one of those huge whip-type aerials puts me off.
