Irish Oil Pressure Guage

Oil pressure gauge always used to read about 60psi cold idle dropping to 40-45psi warm idle, 50-55psi normal driving. For the last week or so its all gone backwards. 40psi cold idle then as the engine warms up its back to normal 50-55psi normal driving 40-45psi warn idle. Any advice appreciated. Oil relief spring maybe?

I think it is teh colder weather causing the oil to be thicker in the mornings so having problems being pushed down the very narrow pipe to the gauge.

Mine has started doing the same.

Are those pressures not a bit low anyhow?

You've got me worried now. My 4.2 shows 85psi cold idle, 75 when driving hot but only 25 at hot idle. Also, when turning hard left the pressure sometimes drops. So I've bought a couple of new springs but yet to replace.

Occasionally there is a creamy residue on the dipstick (which I originally thought was a blown gasket) but I think it's just condensation within the engine.

I, like any other Cerb owner, am paranoid about oil issues and would love to know more about what's 'normal'.
