Hello All

I am taking a business contact out for lunch next week and need a decent place to eat that has parking.

Food would ideally be good quality English (but Harts is too expensive / formal). We also need space to spread out documents and plans.

We'll be coming from Colwick and going to Aspley so anywhere around the city / ring road works.

Thanks for any adice guys, PH wisdom ref restaurants always seems spot on.

Just off the ring road (about 10-15 min drive from Colwick)

Colwick....A52 to Gamston. First left at the Wheatcrofts roundabout - A606 to Melton. Go through Tollerton, head to Plumtree at the lights. Job done. 5 min back to A52. Further 10min (traffic permitting) to Aspley.

Yes, I know Perkins and am going there in a couple of weeks, but it's a bit too far out and possibly a bit "intimate" not "businessy" enough.

The Riverbank on Trent Bridge always has nice smells coming from it (not a lot for veggies though) and there's parking round the back or on the embankment.

Hah, thanks Miss VR that was going to be my fallback position.

I have not been there for lunch. Last time I went for an evening meal the music and people trying to talk over it were deafening.

No, if it was Spiros we'd be going somewhere down the bottom of Lower Parliament Street. Or as some would say I'd be taking him up the bottom.

Yes! I went to Morrisons and CoOp.

Then I cooked roast dinner for the family. I was quite chuffed with myself. Dind't do it too well though in case Mrs Manks makes me do it again.

Oh bugger mate - i wish i'd of mentioned it to you last week. With it being quite an active topic on PH, i just presumed everyone knew frown

My GT3 has still got the M7 plate on it, parked next to my mates black 997T.

GTS - yep, looked very nice, obviously had *all* the options as you would expect (PCCB'S PDK e.t.c.), still think it is a bloody good run-out model imho

To be honest Phooey I would probably not have been able to attend anyway. Furthermore I generally only go to Silverstone if I am driving, not to socialise with the hoi polloi.
