Just make sure you properly clean the hard drive first, just beacuse you've deleted it doesn't mean its not there anymore!!!! Its amazing the stuff you can recover from it!!!

Take it to cash converters of Computer exchange in woking opposite the station. I bet they will give you £50 for it

Wipe it with dban ( www.dban.org ) then stick it on Freecycle. There's always someone worse off than you that would be grateful for an old PC and will save you a trip to the tip.

If it's well & truly knackered then still dban the hard drive and take it to your local tip.

You need to burn dban to CD on another PC then when you start the knackered one up press whatever button takes you into the BIOS (F2 or F10 or whatever) then change the order of devices it boots from to be CD before hard drive then restart it with the dban CD in the CD drive.

Take the side off the PC and run the hard drive over a big magnet a few times, if you don't have a magnet buy a big subwoofer from halfrauds and take it back after you've made good use of the magnet on it.

just take off the sides and remove the HD, then put the bits left in the bin.10 mins.

If you did manage to get that to work (depends on what metal the hd case is made of) it would knacker the drive as some of the media is not used for your data it is essensial for the operation of the drive. Seems a waste to kill a drive someone might be able to use. Boot & nuke disk erases it clean & easy.

If you want to be destructive, I always figured thermite would do the job

As long as you have the software installed correctly then there should not be an issue with the hardware.. If you want it rebuilt then pass it to me can sort it for you. Managed to sort out Swerni machine a few months back! ( I am sure he promised me a passenger ride in the Camero!)

You should be able to transfer this to the new pc. You just need to speak to Microsoft support and explain. If you purchased a full version of office the. The license belongs Tao you and you can install it on your computer and transfer it to a new pc when you buy a new one.
