Hi

I have just started a motorsport course at Coventry University. I was wondering if anybody knew of any race teams around Coventry that would take a student on. As I am looking for experience for my days off and race meeting experienc.

I have a car with me so transport is not a issue.

Thanks

Peugeot used to run much of their motorsport from Coventry and with Northampton not far away your best bet is to approach suppliers and engineering concerns.

Do the Formula Student if/when you can, having worn orange to it I can tell you a few famous faces turn up to have a nose round. I saw Ross Brawn but somehow missed DC's massive chin hehe

I am also doing a msport course at NC4M based at silverstone.
The advice they gave us is to pester everyone. Alot of the lads turned up to the brit car on thursday, asked around and ended up working the whole weekend. 2 lads are away testing in portugal last week and spain this week just by asking.
I have seen afew of your posts asking for advice. Simply go and see them, dont email them as it is simple to press delete. Show an interest and knock on their doors.

Also you have been asking on PH for 3 and a half years, have you actually asked anybody else? It would seem you are going nowhere. Maybe a change of tack is needed.

as another person has said, get involved with formula student and the covkartsport karting series www.covkartsport.com its a lowish cost arrive and drive series based in and around the midlands but could be useful for contacts and meeting people involved in racing and its a bit of a giggle!...

there are loads of similar courses around so lots of other people fighting for the same jobs and experience, turn up to the winter series races at the major circuits and pester the teams. got to be worth a try, just remember that everything is an opportunity and there are likely to be others there trying too. the autosport show is a must too but dont go with some badly designed cvs folded in your pocket, be professional....
