Hi there

I am looking to buy a 3R , I was wondering if anyone knew about this one I found which has been modified by Noble Motorsport , it says Stage 5 ( 500 BHP ). Basically is it worth buying or is going to prove to be a handfull with the extra power plus the fact I am not very good mechanically . Thank you .

Take the 500 bhp with a pinch of salt, not sure but is that a standard intercooler?

A couple of things would stand out for me if I was looking.
Spending 20 grand on upgrading/maintaining car in the previous six months and then selling for 30K?.Might be worth a check of what it was doing before the money was spent.
Price.£30,000(inc.VAT)... An odd thing for a "private" seller to put?

can see were the 20k has gone... new Comp wheels and tyres, coilovers, clutch and box, intercooler (no not std), exhaust... plus whatever has been done to turbos etc.

if its a sound and hounest car then its def worth £30k imho (said having spent more than £30k this year alone on my car incl some of these mods)

Wasn't suggesting the seller hadn't spent it,as you've proved it's easily done! Moreover why you'd sell it so soon after.Had he had it long before and simply wanted to upgrade, or bought it stupid cheap as a non-runner etcand if so what as the history before hand.
To add, I'm not suggesting for one minute that it's not anything but genuine, they're just simply the things I would want to find out if I was looking to buy.

sjc, i wasnt aiming my reply at you... was just generally recognising some of the things he's done and how much they cost ie how it would be a good buy if its a genuine car.

Thanks guys for your input .

how could i trace the car's history before all the work was done to it ? incase it was a cat c . Would it be worth speaking to Noble Motor Sport about this Stage 5 work ?

Deffo speak to them, and the factory who knew of my car when I bought it as they had done tehe first 2 services.
Having called up the advert, it's 37 miles for me, so you're likely to have either NobleLondon/TVRcentre,Mole Valley or Kerridges on it's doorstep. Any of those Noble specialists can do a proper inspection, and if the seller's got nothing to hide he won't mind it happening.
Well, as long as you pay obviously!

I must admit I do like the look of this car, and I would be tempted to go and have a look but it's a bit over my budget! But i'm interested in what is meant by 'full engine rebuild to stage 5. Stage 5 turbo chargers' or is it just a fancy way of saying it's what a lot of people on here have done with their cars? And looking at the front wheels it looks like he's fitted 19" wheels to me?

Also sounds like it has had an engine rebuild, does "sound" like a well specced car and is worth checking out.

Not too sure about the tyres, looks close to a new set of rears to me.
I'd want to see all the bills for the engine and gearbox builds, as said before 500 JNM ponies are more like 425 real ones, never heard of stage five turbos.
get it looked over by Skip at Trimar / North London TVR in Barnet, he's looked after more than a few Nobles and knows what he's doing.
If the seller is genuine he won't mind that sort of scrutiny.
