+10%+2mph I believe is an ACPO guideline and not much more.

Talking to a lady yesterday who was done by the Penistone Road one-armed bandit at 33.

Take care.

10% plus 2 is still the ACPO guideline. Most cameras will be set somehat higher, but it depends on the road.

From what I saw when the M42 cameras were first rolled out, they were set to about 51mph, so it's no wonder it was the highest earning road in the UK.

I think they have now been set to ACPO guidelines as I have not seen so many people getting flashed, but in reality I think people have slowed down.

Have you also noticed how fast you have to go to set of the smily faces signs placed just before each camera?

I got flashed at 1am in the morning (in Huddersfield) doing 36 in a 30, on a road that had been lowered from a 40 limit, whilst trying to avoid a car full of thugs trying to run me off the road/carjack me. Still got the fing NIP, and they didn't want to know about me trying to avoid getting murdered/run off the road/whatever. Fing sts.

32 in a 30? Surely they must allow for the speedo being slightly out? Speedos are never within 2mph of being acurate

Speedos can (legally) read up to 10% high, but 0% low (all up to 70mph), as far as I know.

It appears they are in preparation for moving the roadworks further up towards J6. Northbound they have taken the camera from M42/M40 interchanged and it is no behind the 1m marker board for J6. Southbound they have taken the first camera which was about 1mile nth of J5 and moved up to about 2m south of J6 currently outside the roadworks.

No allowance required for speedo errors needed. The allowance is to make sure the prosecution is safe only. The laser guns are acurate to +/-1km/h so the evidence only has to be outside that tolerance really.
Prosecuting below ACPO is a bit desperate though I must admit.

That scamera is still there. It was 2 of the others that have been moved.
