So, you see someone with bald tyres...
Discussion
Parking in a rather upmarket area of London, a 3 year old Lexus Hybrid 4x4 thingie.
Was a very neat bit of parking in a tiny little space by the yummy mummy driving!
However, 4 x bald tyres, wear indicators clearly showing all round.
I was agonising over wheter to say hi and point it out, thinking they probably didnt know (almost certainly not short of a few bob in this area) but was concerned about getting a mouthfull of abuse in return.
Eventually I bottled it and minded my own goddam business, however if It were me and I had somehow not spotted my four clearly illegal tyres I'd appreciate someone pointing it out as that's a licence saver right there.. it's still 3 points a corner right?
What would you do?

Depends what they looked like - friendly and nice then probably- chav and not nice definately not. Two reason for this
1. Can't be arsed with getting a mouthfull from a chav
2. Chavs are bad people that deserve points
what he said.1. Can't be arsed with getting a mouthfull from a chav
2. Chavs are bad people that deserve points
i can't see how you wouldn't realise though???

It's not the license and points I would worry about, it's the safety. What if she loses control in heavy rain and slides her 3 tonne monstrosity up the pavement and into a group of kids?
However, I'm not sure what I'd do..
I doubt the police would be interested unless she was speeding, and approaching them is probably not a good idea.

EDIT: not that I actually said that, but it was implied from my original post..

Munroman putting words in my mouth there! Can't fix the quoting for a quote there, so I gave up!
I think I messed mine up too, apologies if I did!Yes, Yummy Mummy, lets just say that a lady I knew phoned her husband to tell him the car 'felt funny' and 'was making a noise'.
Hubby found the reason for this was that the N/S front wheel had almost been ripped off due to being smashed into a huge boulder at the parking spot......

There's a nearly new Zafira that parks in a road near my house, presumably owned by a family due to the child seats in the back. The nearside front alloy has no distinguishable shape around the rim due to a truly massive amount of kerb damage and the tyre has bulges, chunks missing and bits of rubber hanging off the sidewall all around its circumference.
I've no idea who owns it, but it was so bad I felt compelled to leave a polite note on the windscreen a couple of months ago, which was presumably discarded with contempt as it's still like it to this day...

Probably the same one I have seen too...... I've no idea who owns it, but it was so bad I felt compelled to leave a polite note on the windscreen a couple of months ago, which was presumably discarded with contempt as it's still like it to this day...
But not the only ones....it's damn dangerous that these people are allowed to drive on the roads....
Speed cameras can't pull you over, spot bald tyres and issue points and a fine for every iffy corner sadly.
It's also all too common. Some people simply don't EVER check their tyres. Or fluids. Or anything.
We've had lease cars in the workshop with tyres showing canvas and the owners don't seem to batter an eyelid when you tell them, thinking it is the lease companies responsibility to write to them when they need new tyres.

I always put a wee note on the windscreen - "Your tyres are bald, illegal and a serious safety issue". Done it a few times, and on the odd occasion seen the same car again a few days or weeks later with new tyres fitted.
Usually it's Scenics and Zafiras that I see with bald tyres in Tesco.
