E36 Seat upright wont come forward enough

I aquired a drivers seat for my car. It came out of a convertible and I have conditioned it and redyed it with Liquid Leather. Now I have just fitted the seat and everything is fine except the seat back will only come forward so far and its just not enough to be comfortable for me. Is there something stopping this or something I can do to sort it. The back goes all the way back and hits the rear seat if this helps.

Please help as I feel a bit gutted after the work I have put into the seat.
