As usual I'm planning on escaping our horrible awful stty winter for 2 weeks at some point in January or February and would love some suggestions.

Budget wise i'm looking to spend between £800-£1100 each so nothing too mental like Seychelles is in budget.

I basically just want to to be nice and hot 25+ with some lovely beaches/coastline, things to do not too important as just want to chill out.

I went Cuba last winter and loved it but fancy somewhere I havent been before.

We've just booked to go to the Stella di mare Sharm in Egypt for just over your budget in Jan. Never been there before but looks nice and gets good reviews.

How about palm springs, I'm told the desert is lovely in the Winter - full of flowers etc!

of course if you want a beach, you'll have to go to southern california

Yep didn't notice that bit - it's low 20's I believe, if you want 25+ you will probably have to go longer haul and pay more.

Carribean, Africa, Indian ocean, maybe cape verde islands?

Cali seems like a good idea, maybe with a Mustang convertible thrown in for a week touring around

I went to Cape Verde 12 months ago. There's not much to do there (yet) and is the ultimate chill out. Not sure of Jan/Feb temperatures but in October it was in the early 30's.

If you want to see it unspoilt, go soon because tourism is starting to appear and in a few years it will be quite commercial.

Kerala in Southern India. Just do it. It will be very hot and reasonably humid but you will love it and the spending money is fairly low as everything tends to be cheap. Been twice and want to go again. Far better than hippy Goa and overall not much more expensive than a jaunt to the Canaries because you spend so much less when you get there. Stunning scenery. We went for a week in 2004 and 2 weeks in 2005. Only the kids stop us going back tomorrow. You need an ar*e-jab and anti-malaria tablets but the latter are more a precaution as we never had any problem at all (though avoid overnight rice-boats if you want to avoid mosquitos).

Cape Town. Great food, stunning scenery, nice beaches, vineyards etc etc and no jet lag. You can always do a Safari too.

Looks lovely here, not sure what the temps will be like in Jan/Feb though as surely it will be super windy being in the middle of the Atlantic so if it was mid to low 20's the wind chill is going to take a chunk off that temp

Just wondering whether the PH collective checked the OP's budget, to get anywhere toasty at that time of year I would hazard a guess that it would cost at least £500 RTN, assuming we are flying cattle class.

So that leaves £600 each for accommodation, food and more importantly... grog.

For this budget I would do either India or perhaps a multi-trip such as Thailand/Malaysia or the "st" even.

The money is not going to go very far Stateside, nor SA I suspect, if I was going to sit longhaul in cattle class I would want to go somewhere where my spending money really worked out as good value, SE Asia is this.

I would dismiss Sharm in Egypt, the place is basically where the audience of the Jeremy Kyle go to spend their benefit money, however Dahab is not bad up the coast if you are the active type! But as others have said it won't be that warm when you want to go!

SE Asia my friend!

Correctomundo.Sharm will be low 20's with a wind and pretty cold at night.

If you want 25+ you need to head down South, say Marsa Alam or Hamata. Not much to do there though bar diving.

DownUnder.

True...it was pretty windy when I went in October TBH but the sun was really strong so it was quite a welcome wind.
