Hello!
Had a very boring week at work and went nearly through all TVR-part pages. After viewing some nice (and unknown) parts, I'm asking myself, how would I upgrade my Sagaris to the max, without any lack of money and keeping the S6.

First of all, I think I would go for the FFF-head.
- carbon airbox?
- preoiler camcover (Raceproved)?
- remapping?

What else?

Personally I'd wait to see what the FFF mk2 actually does in numbers, before deciding on that or the TVR Power 4.5.

If you go FFF, then you won't need the raceproved pre-oiler. (I don't know if you would need it for the 4.5, but it's in my costings if I go 4.5. Dom, maybe you can shed some light?)

I'd look at the Omex system (thread in the S6 forum).

I'd go for a re-designed (but looking original) exhaust.

ACT carbon airbox - oh yes.

I'd then get a different coloured cam cover (because I can!), ceramic coated exhaust, colour-code the leads etc, get the engine bay detailed and sealed.... and, errrrr....... think that's it?

ok, so a 4.5 rebuilt with no FFF.

OMEX? Yesterday I saw a thread about a new system (still in testing and not available yet) - sounds very good to me.

colour cam cover - not the lighter Raceproved one (only the cover)?

ceramic coated exhaust? Do you mean the "manifold-coating" that colours it black? I think Graham V. did that and I think, thats a MUST-HAVE - mine is a bit rusty, but not sure, if I can do that here in Germany...

decat, shocks, harness bar, cut the slats out, better rear center box on the exhaust. If i had to do one then it would be the shocks.

Then change the engine

Cheaper to upgrade the driver to the max and to be honest much more fun.

@blackie
Decat - ok
shocks - Nitrons with Eibach?
no engine change! I want to know, which are best upgrades for the S6!

@Donkey
Drivers-upgrade is still in progress :-) - did my first 1000 miles now - can work with the wrong steering- and gearshift-side and will do my first trackday next year Nürburgring...

Comments on your list above:

4.5 engine - the ultimate Speed Six at the moment, unless you go to someone like Jason at Str8Six (see earlier post). FFF is yet to be proven

OMEX - I guess you are referring to the ECU thread on the Speed Six forum, a chap called Ryan - looks promising, but this work is currently for/with Racing Green (of FFF fame) and not TVR Power. Dom @ TVR Power commented on that thread suggesting the std ECU is tweakbable enough with the right access - I'm sure that argument could go on forever. Maybe in future you will be able to get everything combined.

Cam Cover - this is purely dressing. As for the Raceproved option, well TVR Power is offering a 5 year warranty on their engine rebuilds without this, so is it needed? Would installing one void a TVR Power warranty? Questions you'd need to ask

Ceramic coating - main benefit is cutting the heat in the engine bay. Colour is a personal choice.

I would go with Nitron with Eibach springs making sure it is set up properly with corner weighting, setup is the main thing. No point in decent shocks if not set up right. Topcats set mine up and I have print outs with what I set them for the track and road and it only takes about two minutes a side to make the changes. (no idea if you get to the UK so you will need to find someone that knows what they are talking about)

I would just live with your engine for a while until it goes pop or you start to have problems with it (i know this goes right against what I did). No point in dressing the engine unless you are into keeping it looking great so I would not bother with cam covers etc. A alloy rad is not a bad investment to keep your temps in the right place, coating your manifolds will make a difference but the cost will be high if you can not get them out with the engine still in.

All our engines stay unique no fancy add ons just quality components that have been tried and tested 18 month before we release to the public, has for the ECUs and air boxes that’s a personal touch
