loft find watches
Discussion
So my wife is going through a box of "old junk" she's had years. It belonged to her great grandmother. She's taken out some of the nicer jewellery years ago and was bored so had a look..
She chucks me two watches and asks if they are anything special.
One is obviously a vintage omega on a crappy strap and not working, the other is tiny, has a face smaller than my little fingernail.
So I get a magnifying glass, look through the scratched glass "international watch co"
It's from the 30's and quite rare apparently, Nightmare from here has restored it and it looks great..
So the Omega, she took it to Bond st who sent it off (not sure they did) and a few weeks later said its knackered, nothing can be done.
So I thought, last ditch attempt, took it to little watch cabin in picc circus tube, had been recommended the man there.. he takes it apart, new battery and some oil later, its working fine!! 3 mins work!!
On a new strap, nice little watch! happy ending.
