This may be a stupid question but do i need to be insured on a car for the roads to be able to use it on a track?

Im looking at getting a track car but the cars ive been looking at just arent worth the insurance premiums (im quite young). Would i be able to trailor the car to tracks and then buy specific day track insurance to use the car?

I don't think that will matter. Road insurance has no effect on tracks at all. When I went with my mate to Bedford Autodrome they didn't ask for insurance + I've seen a lot of cars going round tracks that definitely ain't road legal.
