Anyone else go to Abingdon today?
Discussion
Really vey good day, very busy in the morning but people were being good and pulling out the way immediately etc so it didn't really matter (well except a Silver Skyline that was comedy slow in the bends then superfast on the straights). Afternoon really quieted down and was GREAT, nice clear fast runs each time.
Nice to see an E Type Jag out, ot often you get really nice polished classics out

I was there with the 968CS and the 355 Spider with various offspring/ friends driving, as you say busy in the morning and there was some shall we say interesting driving at times
Escort Mexicos were nice and as you say the e types too
I saw your 968CS spinning in clouds of tyre smoke a few times

Your 355 looks in beautiful condition, I've not seen many about these last few yeas and the few I have had looked a bit neglected so nice to see one both looking like new and being used on track

I was overtaken by 2 cars out of a corner whilst not overtaking the Honda S2000 that I was stuck behind. It was the old slow in braking zone/corners fast on the straights job, well fast for my little 2 litre to deal with.
I think we talked briefly didn't we Stueys? that S2000 was a bit slow to let people past wasn't it Edited by stueys on Saturday 16th October 11:27

It was an ideal day weather wise
The S2000 I didn't have any problems with, it was going at a markedly slower pace than I was so maybe that made him sooner to move over. I know Abingdon very well as its my local track (I only live 20 minutes away), only had the Atoms catch me all day and then quite unexpectly the yellow Escort Mexico at the end of the day. I don't know if it had a different driver or they had fixed an issue with it but I'd been catching them all day no problems then all of a sudden it was absolutely flying around and left me for dead.
The silver skyline with bodytune or something similar across the back was the only car that irritated me at all and it was only the once. There were a group of 3 Loti and myself being held up by him as he'd boot it and leave us all on the straights and then really majorly hold us up under braking and corners (to the extent I was coasting round behind him). I think the point got reached we all got fed up and so all went for it early exiting / mid bend on the wide 2nd turn after pits and passed him. Not an issue really but I suppose technically we'd all get told off for passing on bends.

Yeah, an excellent day.
I was in my white Elise SC, and it was good to get chatting with some fellow Lotus owners. We also had the blue BMW 135i and the black Porsche 964 Turbo in our party.
The 964 was 'eventful' to say the least
Edd.
That 964 looks amazing, I took three photos all day one of the Mexicos, one of 355's 355 and one of that 964 I was in my white Elise SC, and it was good to get chatting with some fellow Lotus owners. We also had the blue BMW 135i and the black Porsche 964 Turbo in our party.

What was "eventful" with it, nothing serious I hope, I imagine it maybe bit of a handful I saw it out on track once and seemed to be going ok?

Was the 964 struggling with handling? I let it through at one point and it then came to a near stop entering one of the chicanes, gave me a scare I was in my white Elise SC, and it was good to get chatting with some fellow Lotus owners. "Was the 964 struggling with handling?" yes, it far exceeds my ability to drive it!
The chicane entry scared me too. The car felt really unsettled going into it so I had to shave off a ton of speed or risk entering it backwards. Hope I didn't give him too much of a shock
