I found this advert today of a sagaris for sale,

and recognised it from an advert on Desperate Seller priced at £41990, http://www.desperateseller.co.uk/findacar/used-car... and it was also advertised here on p/hds for some time when it was up for sale with Driven Image, and from memory they were asking £36k ?? for it.
the price fluctuation and different dealers seem a little strange to me, albeit may be a simple case of it being sold, but the owner decided it wasn`t for him and traded it in for a scooby
perhaps thats the bit I can`t understand

In another two years Sag's might be still getting 40k or even more.
You won't be able to say that about the ricer! In two years time, they'll be in the 20's. Plus virtually uninsurable. Do a search on GTR's for parts costs

I would take any TVR over the GT-R, I've driven 2 GT-Rs and they are quite boring/easy to drive, just doesn't feel special when your behind the wheel, maybe it's all the driving aids.justin220 said:

Because you know what you are getting. Sensible tyre costs, sensible service costs, no pre track day service required, gear box oil that doesnt cost £650.00,no worries about changing discs and pads after 5000 miles at £3000 for fronts only and no worries about a warranty thats not worth the paper its written on. A non existent TVR customer service department is understandable when a company isnt making cars, but it is unexplainable as Nissans is a an absolute disgrace.
Get the TVR any day of the week. GTR is a great car before you all start shouting, but isnt capable of more than three fast laps of any circuit before its time to change the oil. 7.28 round the ring is fine, but it can only be done once. Porsche must be pissing themselves laughing. Its a shame because the GTR is a really great car spoilt by the company that produced it.
Yes I have had both and can qualify my comments. Having said that I wouldnt pay over £40k for a Sag
The GTR will be a bargain at £30k with a years warranty on it if they actually get that low

The Sag is not worth the c£15k premium over a T350 of the same age. think T350 with a Power / Str8Six 4.5 / 4.3 upgrade (5 yr warranty), Nitrons and still some change over the cost of the Sag and you have a car that could probably hold its own compared to the GTR and is better looking than both of them to boot.
For the same money you get a Sag (no 5 yr warranty) that will be lucky to see 380 bhp and which has a bit of a max power look about it and which when sat side by side with the Nissan just doesn't have the same presence.
I might sound harsh, but I don't view TVR's through rose tinted spec's - they are brilliant, charismatic and for the money phenominally quick cars, but as with most things in life you get what you pay for, which brings me back to the GTR because I genuinely think this car is the exception to that rule.

I think that if someone wants a GTR then go and try one as they are awesome. The thing for me is the driving experience that although good just doesnt make you feel like your driving with the seat of your pants. I have tried all kinds of TVRs and owned four. For me I have always liked Nissans/ Datsuns and also had a few of them, 240z, 260z, 350z and GTR. For me it would have to be the Sagaris or a 240z Samuri and I have one of them so maybe its a 240z in the new year.
This is after all a forum and I am giving an opinion on a car I have owned. The proof is always in the test drive, but more often in longer term ownership.
I'm keeping my Sag for a long time now so that gives you my thoughts.
GTR = 18 months ownership @ £14000 costs including depreciation, but not including fuel, tyres or finance interest if it helps

Would love a Sag, but not prepared to pay another £18,000 plus the T350 to get into one.That to me doesn't make sense.
I think an Aston Vantage at £40,000 plus a decent warranty is a realistic alternative to a Sag. Don't shoot me it's just my opinion.
If TVR start making cars again, I think Sag values will come down, to a more realistic level.

Thing is though, performance isn't the same league (driven both) in my experience and the Vantage is dime a dozen in Londonium.
