Nothing has appeared in the press for over a year, or at least google doesn't turn up anything newer; has commonsense broken out and Bisley selected, is the gimcrack madness of the Woolwich venue still being rammed through, or is it just something the ConDems will get to in good time and I should keep calm and carry on?

No, apparently the insistance is still on the original venue which of course will be torn down after the games. Thus not only offering poor value for hard earned taxpayers readies but no lasting legacy for shooting sports after the games.
I may be mistaken but I believe that the CPSA have now capitulated and backed the barracks site.
In short it's a fking travesty, especially considering the recent medal haul in India, £25 million down the pan.

I thought the whole selling point was that there's going to be all these 'legacy' sports facilities for the unwashed to use once the 'golden' ones have sodded off to the next Grand Prix event? Never mind the fact that Bisley was reckoned to cost half of the pointless temporary abortion, and never mind the attendant danger of stray bullets capping random eastenders? Is there any lobbying still going on? ARSE!

It's a done deal.
We've been stitched up by all.
Even the group who pertain to lobby on our behalf.
They have capitulated to commitees of idiots.

Your lobby group has chucked the towel in? Why no legal challenge? I'd have thought the 'legacy' argument would be a done deal when added to the cost-saving. Has there been no comment from Jeremy Hunt or Hugh Robertson? They're both bloody Conservative, I'd have thought they would be all over this like a cheap suit.
