Daughter wants to learn how to drive....
Discussion
Yes, I've suckered you into another 'what car' thread! Bwahahahahaha.
Now, on to business. Daughter (14, no pictures, ever), wants to learn how to drive. We have a fair bit of land (multiple acres) for her to do this. I want her to learn in a RWD car.
So, what other than an MX-5 (naturally), or a Landy (with the front diff disconnected), can we do with this?
The floor is open....

Judging by the owners Nova, in the 2nd and 3rd pics, he is a legend!

Series 3 Landy. They are RWD until you choose to put them into 4WD via the levers.
She'll learn oversteer, as they are very easy to get the back out, but everything happens so slowly, it's easy to correct.
Bits are cheap as chips if they break & it is a real "mechanical" driving experience, so she'll have a great feel for a car by the time she goes on the road.
Finally, they are deeply cool for young people (my 7 year old has already decided he's going to pass his test in ours!!!)

If it's a cheap porker you want ,

not mine but I am watching it closely so it might be by the end of auction.

I normally hate posting pics into a non-pic thread, but let me try to sway you towards the Landy.
Last Sunday, my neighbour & I took it to a Pay & Play site near me & I am guessing about 5 or 10 mins from you & she went over & through & exactly the same terrain as many thousands of pounds worth of lifted Disco's etc
This old girl cost me £1,000 last December.

I understand the reason for wanting her to learn in a rwd car... however, what with insurance the way it is at the moment, it more likely that her first car will be fwd.
What I'm saying is perhaps it would be beneficial to tech her the characteristics of both wheel drives.
Cover all the bases so to speak.
