I am trying to view the source code on some web pages (my own ironically) and when I do View Source on IE6 nothing happens.

I've disabled my firewall and virus checker - in case that was causing a problem - but still no luck.

I've been thru the various IE settings but can't see anything obvious.

It happens on all pages on all sites - so it's not a coding restriction on the pages I'm viewing.

I am running a 2nd firewall on my home network - but this is not causing a problem as my other machine works ok.

Can anyone point me in a possible direction on how to solve this?

I should add that if I do File Save As, then view it locally - it works ok. I'm using this as a short-term fix - but it's not ideal.

Many thanks in advance,

K

Go to Tools/Internet Options/Programs and set HTML Editor to Notepad.

yeah - it was already set to that.

I set it to MS Excel - did not load excel - re-set it back to Notepad - still no luck.

Sometimes this happens to me.

I either have to hard refresh the page.
or
Right click then view source
or
via the View menu

Tim,

BINGO.

Worked. Thank you very much. I must confess I did not even think of that as being a possible cause.
