Lots of servicing, 17mpg and not quite fitting into a british supermarket parking space. Oh and best buy your tyres well in advance.
But...........
Laugh out loud pace, rifle bolt gear changes, amazing grip steering and fun, fun fun..
Lots of oportunities to fettle it, smug feeling of driving a £120k car for less than half of that.
You, will, love it.

A manual MX5 (for example) has a rifle-bolt gearchange.
An electronically controlled paddle-operated DCT or SMG does not, no matter how good/fast/efficient it is.
A semi-automatic is quite fundamentally not a bolt action.

dont worry, you'll be fine.
Ive had one 18 months and its cost exactly what I expected, which is a little more than a Porsche but with far less relative depreciation.
However, its far more awesome than any of the 17 years of different Porsches I've owned.
Also expect a lot of flak from porsche owners, but lots of very positive attention from all other road users- who love the car way more than any porsche I ever owned.

Re the tyre question, My GTR cost me £1200 in Bridgestones recently which is quite a lot, though less than the Dunlop alternative. My 997 GT3 used to get 2500-3000 miles from the OEM Pilot Sport Cups on the rears at £335 each
Fronts lasted twice as long but if you let them get low then aquaplaning serenely into the adjacent hedge was a distinct possibility on any sort of standing water.thanks for the replies chaps, just a little on my car background first. ive had the following cars - lotus esprit turbo, tvr tamora, tvr sagaris, ferrari 360 modena, ferrari 360 spider, mitsubishi evoX, bmw X5 4.8iS and a ferrari 360 challange stradale.
i just sold the strad and have the evoX up for sale. it was time to get a grand tourer and the options were a bentley continental, AM DB9, ferrari 612 or the Gtr. i felt i needed to maintain some hardcore element so i bought a 59 plate red gtr with black alloys that arrived yesterday.
so ive driven the car for 2 days. WOW :-) :-) it is brutal, awesome, crazy and master piece, i LOVE it. ticks all my requirements.
