I possibly won't get many responses, but are many others watching this? I missed the first episode and ended up watching it when it was broadcast again on the sunday afternoon before the 2nd episode and was hooked.
I quite like the fact that there is humour in it and that is something not often found in period dramas.
Oh and I really like Mr Bates.

I'm not watching it. After what ITV did to Persuasion a couple of years back I've given up on them doing period drama (or much of anything) well.

Hmm. Jane Austen's work runs through with humour, most of it ironic or through delight in the absurd. However screen adaptations can struggle with it.onomatopoeia said:
