I possibly won't get many responses, but are many others watching this? I missed the first episode and ended up watching it when it was broadcast again on the sunday afternoon before the 2nd episode and was hooked.

I quite like the fact that there is humour in it and that is something not often found in period dramas.

Oh and I really like Mr Bates.

Well I've watched all the episodes and thought it was excellent.

Hugh Bonneville is a first class actor.

Highly recommended.

Yup, avid watcher here!

It looks fantastic, and as mentioned, Hugh Bonneville is a legend - his brother lives 4 doors down from my inlaws.

I'm watching it, primarily because it has some great actors in, it's beautifully shot and put together... the bit I'm really looking forward to is when there's a plot... should be one along anytime now though!

ok I will come out: I too love it. Fantastic acting by all, Highclere is stunning. Well written gives you a real sense of the time

have to say anything with Maggie Smith in it is worth watching for her alone and she is loving this role

I watched a bit of it yesterday (Wifey wanted to, honest!)

Highclere really is impressive. The interior shots were filmed there too IIRC?

I'm not watching it. After what ITV did to Persuasion a couple of years back I've given up on them doing period drama (or much of anything) well.

Hmm. Jane Austen's work runs through with humour, most of it ironic or through delight in the absurd. However screen adaptations can struggle with it.

Love the program

Yes, Mrs AA watches it, but I'd say I enjoy it more than her

One of the few programmes I look forward to, the socialist chauffeur looks set to be a good character

Loving it. Good laugs at times, especially the way it ended on Sunday.

Here you go Phil, a cast list for you.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1606375/

The great news is that there will be a 2nd series too.
