I am aware it is not a Ferrari/Maserati or Lambo but undoubtedly a supercar of the highest order. Anyway, browsing on autotrader I noticed the 2005 onward Gt's do not appear to have depreciated, if anything they have increased in price. Does anyone know there original retail and how many are in the UK?

I don't really see any reason for them to depreciate when there's so little of them in the country, allegedly 28 (officially) in the UK. Though I did think there were a few more than that.

Quite a few USA cars have been imported over the years. Importing one now works out expensive with the currency at 1.58 plus vat plus import fee plus shipping plus few small bits for uk registration. Having owned a few of them I think they are superb value an not crazy super car money for parts and servicing, although some parts appear to be running short. A nice clean heritage model would be my choice.

£125k originally for the uk cars. There were 28 uk cars and 101 European ones including the 28.

Not sure how many US cars have been imported but a few. Max 100 cars in the UK now maybe?

Ford will produce all spares for at least 10 years.

Depreciate now? Unlikely to be honest and that's not just me being hopeful. It'll never look dated unlike some of the other supercars of this time.

Importing a car into the uk from us will attract vat. There are some rules where it can be reduced for special reasons and from memory if the car originally came from the eu and is less than three years old (witness some carrerra gt's were imported cheaply when the ccy was gbpusd was at 2.00, the 10% import duty based on invoice price still applied)

so a $160k ford gt would be approx

£100k
£17.5k vat
£10k import (vat on this too??)
£5k for uk conversion?
£5k shipping?

That's more than physical cars are offered at in the uk at the moment.

I believe if you are the owner of the car in the us for 6 or 12 months then the vat does not apply

As the car is comming from outwith the euro zone I am fairly sure it will attract VAT on importing into UK

100% true - and that's VAT on the total price, including import tax, right? There is a taper scheme if you buy a car from the Channel Isles, based on age, but I am not sure whether this applies to any other country....and I am sure not the US

I saw one advertised in Northern Europe somewhere around july time.At the time the exchange rate was around £1= 1.25 euro and it worked out at about £100k which I think was cheap.shame the euro didnt go a bit more pearshaped.

Was that the White car? It was cheap from memory.

There was a Red car being offered in the trade this week. Friend if mine bid for it but didn't get it.

Quick look in pistonheads classified and there are two wanted adverts for the cars.
