Hi all. I went to have a look at a 2005 (05) Fiesta 1.4 Ghia TDCi at the weekend. I noticed that underneath the accelerator was a block that looked to be made of stainless steel, or some other shiny metal. It was about 4cm wide, 1.5cm high. I did ask the dealer but he was as much use as a chocolate teapot.

So, can anyone help identify this mystery component?

TIA

I think there is a bracket that is welded to the floor that acts as a stop for the throttle pedal. If I remember its usually painted body coloured. Is you car silver?. If not I have no clue what part this block is. Pics?
