I live very close to Oulton Park.

I'm looking at the idea of converting an existing building into a 5 star self catering accommodation for people who visit the track for events or track days.

The said building will have a double garage undeneath a 2/3 bed 5 star style accommodation (plasma screens, wet room etc etc). With it being a gated property and having a secure double garage (with pit?) for sole use of the visitor it may appeal to those who don't want to go down the camp/motorhome/tent route who may want to arrive/use their more exotic cars.

I am basically testing the water to see if this may appeal to those of you who think the demand is there.

Thanks for the time in reading

Sounds like a great idea.

YOu would need to link with local restuarant recommendations as I don't see people self catering - but supplying materials for breakfast could go down well.

The only downside I see is that a lot of people go to track days on their own - if you're 2/3 bed you're restricted to those who come in a small group?

Surely people who want to drive their "exotic cars" wouldn't be camping? They'd be in a nice hotel with a pool and breakfast laid on? The people who'd be camping would be the tightarses who wouldn't want to pay for 5 star accommodation?

Nice idea but you just need to make it clean, comfortable, with the basics ie lots of hot water etc, and hence affordable. If you hold out for top end people you'll end up with no one?

I typically do track days with a couple of like minded mates, normally look for some where to stay near the circuit given a chance, like to turn up fresh for the day and drive home in the evening.

Normally just look for a bed but having stayed at some very basic places think it would be good stay some where comfortable and get a good nights sleep.

Your success will depend on how much you charge, don't go to expensive or you wont get any or many bookings, price it at mid price hotel room rate (£75ish per room) and you are on to a winner.

Sounds like a good idea and if you want to follow it up OP, I know the owner of the Millpool personally and would be happy to introduce you, or him to your idea or whatever.

Where are you located?

ETA: Your RS4 is lovely. I swear I may of seen it. But down near Crewe/Wychwood way. Which is not that close to Oulton.

I think its a great idea, I usually know at least a couple of people when I go on a track day, and quite often we all meet up the night before somewhere, you'll do well!
