Oulton Park Accommodation

I live very close to Oulton Park.

I'm looking at the idea of converting an existing building into a 5 star self catering accommodation for people who visit the track for events or track days.

The said building will have a double garage undeneath a 2/3 bed 5 star style accommodation (plasma screens,wet room etc etc). With it being a gated property and having a secure double garage (with pit?) for sole use of the visitor it may appeal to those who don't want to go down the camp/motorhome/tent route who may want to arrive/use their more exotic cars.

I am basically testing the water to see if this may appeal to those of you who think the demand is there.

Garage is an awesome call. The property we stayed in for Le Mans Classic had a double garage so real peace of mind if you're a bit of a pedant. I grew up about 10 miles from Oulton, where abouts is the property?

It's within a 5 minute walking distance and the track can be seen easily from the property

I would say its a good idea, Oulton Park is close to Chester but not THAT close and some of the rigs those guys bring for the Oulton park Gold cup and the likes you wouldn't have any trouble filling it for the big meets, ive seen drivers being helicoptered in to race historic cars, these guys are probably staying somewhere in Chester so why not your place? could name your price for the big meets.

It seems like a good idea to me, and you might get some extra business if you market it at people who attend polo matches down the road.

With rallies in North Wales, Cholmondeley PoP and Tour Britannia all local that might help as well...

I had a friend lived within a 5 minute walk of the circuit up behind Knickerbrook/Foulstons way. Would be my dream house!

It would have views of the track, due to the distance the house is away........... the garage idea is of course due to alot of people attending the bigger events don't always want to leave 100k plus cars in a b&b/hotel full of people with beer and the like

The cost of conversion, and the number of events each year, might make it hard to justify - but you could of course put friends and family in there when not rented out.

You will let me know if it makes a fortune won't you - because I'm 10 minutes away on the outskirts of Kingsley!

I've always stayed at the McDonald Portal hotel in Tarporley, which seems to have no problem attracting some nice cars, and facilities are good.

I guess it depends on the price point you're looking at as to if people see it being cost effective?
and if people do have lots of cash, are they interested in getting their hands dirty spannering on their own car over a pit in a garage, (surely they'd have someone along to do that?)

It's not quite like the 'ring where having a pit/facilities close to the entrance is seen as a possible bonus

It sounds good but I wouldn't like the life of having to be in the house all the time ready to accept guests, cleaning the room and managing all of it. You haven't mentioned supplying breakfast so I presume that's a no.

Its not so much of the money thing to be honest

We plan to convert the existing double garage to a kitchen and re-building another double garage with rooms above
