I think if I got an intercooler I'd get one to protect (and hide) it.

But the way I see it - the grille has to be strong enough and a close enough mesh to withstand the stones, and yet not interfere with cooling. Not convinced many of the available options have been tested in that way, they're mostly for appearance purposes.

Recommend a grill,MX5 PARTS do one that is ok and easy to fit for about £30.Fitted one to mates car, found small paper bag stuck on radiater,

i just got some black wire mesh cut to shape. stops any stones but it's thin enough to not affect air flow. cost a few quid probably.

and cos it's black you can't really see it

hi, i bought mine on ebay £13 plus postage only took 2mins to fit and it looks nice in chrome

Well mine arrived today, have been out trying to fit it but can't get the 10mm bolts to shift. Admittedly I'm using a short spanner as I can't get the socket in there, but did anyone else have trouble or do I need to man-up?

I couldnt shift the bolts, i just slotted it behind the towing eyes and it stays put, never had any bother with it. could cable tie it to tow hooks to secure it a bit more, or man up (i didnt choose that option ).

OK just put so WD40 on and got them to shift. Looks quite good on. Now need to get back on ebay for some more tat.
