BOV / Dump Valves

Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with http://www.turbosmartonline.com/ products?
Most members of the nobility who have opted for a BOV are running a forge unit as far as I know?

What are the reasons behind this long standing tradition? =)

Could it be something as simple as follow the leader, or perhaps to a lesser extent, that the pro-alloy hardpipe kit offers a bespoke connection for the forge unit?

I'm interested in something loud and aggressive, and ideally not too 'chav' like and the turbosmart supersonic *sounds* promising... Any reason not to go in this direction?

I thought the equation was Load&Aggressive = Chav

Still, Im glad my 3R came with it (and hard-pipe kit) I had forgotten how much fun it was since my RS Turbo days.

Alastair - You may well be right... Its a tricky thing to fathom, seeing as how there are only dodgy youtube videos etc to make judgements on the sound from.

However, from what i've heard this turbosmart 'supersonic' sounds lower pitched and more gutteral than a traditional, chav-esq extremely high pitched, pssssssssst.

I use one of their dump valves, but running lots of boost it is very loud, I've adapted it to internal, it works very well and looks good

turbosmart make some good products

see if you can get one where you can turn it to adjust the pressure - you can set it to sound how you like then

got any pictures, i'm worried about the dump valve being silly noisy with high boost.... remember it was very tiresome after a while on the cossie i had and that was similar boost.

Perhaps the Duel port model they offer is the way...

Perhaps run it as a supersonic, and if the noise becomes irritating then switch to plumb back...

I use a Baily Bov from bailey motorsports cost 150 + vat vented internally not that load and looks good. Bailey Motorsport

was supposed to be a link to them still cant do it.
