Or does anybody fancy writing a quick one?

Never owned or been in a speed six car so just wanted an idea of what warning signs there can be from the engine noise department. Any common problems body/interior wise etc. I know this site is a wealth of info on this but i cant find a good thread that answers all my questions.

I have a couple on the shortlist and will be going hunting at the weekend!

I'm not sure how you can immediately tell if the engine has problems. The Speed 6 does have a bit of a top end rattle "sewing machine" noise as I've heard is described. My car has this a little but is only noticeable when the roof is off. So don't necessarily be put off, but if it's audible when driving then I'd suggest getting it inspected to be safe. It could just be the valve clearances need adjusting, or it could be worse. Other than that, high oil consumption would also be a warning sign.
