What's this on the windscreen?

[dan101smith]

This is on the windscreen of my E39 Touring, just under the rear view mirror.

Any ideas what it is? I don't have rain sensitive wipers, but do have electrochromic mirrors.

That part number doesn't come up on RealOEM.

GPS receiver at a guess.

Doesn't have GPS. Or TV.

[Gruber]

Its a rain sensor. Are you sure you haven't got rain-sensitive wipers?

ETA - beaten to it!

You're right, it is. Strange the P/N didn't come up, and rain sensitive wipers aren't on my build sheet, but hey-ho!

Thanks chaps.

[Glassman]

Yep, and thanks to bmminiparts.com it's now covered, too!
