I've fixed your link:

An alternative would be to use a regular mount with a longer HDMI lead and put the Sky box elsewhere. Might look nicer but of course depends on the layout of your room and where you need to put things.

Another alternative would be to buy a TV mount and then a separate shelf unit from any DIY type store. I don't know a lot about the "all in ones" like the one you've linked to. My slight concern with the design of the one linked to is that it's essentially a tall thin pole so if the edge of the panel got knocked it would have a big leverage effect on the mountings. I'd go for one where the screw holes into the wall are in a nice big rectangle for max strength.

I would agree to get one with four mountings, that looks a bit flimsy. Check eBay for wall mounts too, there is a lot on there but you can narrow it down easily. If you are mounting a 32" I would go for the next model up, the ones which advertise (say) 26-32" are possibly undersized for a 32.

For the Sky box - can you site it anywhere else? Putting it anywhere near the TV will look crap. If it's out of remote range you can use an IR sender.

Mount the TV with a standard bracket, drill a big hole through the chimney breast behind the TV and use the fireplace to rack all your kit.

Thanks for the tips guys, but no there is nowhere else that the Sky box could sit neatly, the room is full up already and leaving the box any place where my two year could reach it would be a no no!!!!!

Can you mount a 32" LCD TV on a plasterboard wall? I'd like to mount mine in a corner where both walls are battened then clad in plasterboard.

Just use plugs and screws long enough to bed into the brickwork behind the plasterboard. I used 4" screws to wall mount the stand for a 14" CRT.

Or get a big fk off piece of MDF or plywood and screw that into the plasterboard with a large number of screws to spread the load. Then secure the TV bracket into the wood board.

I mounted my 50" plasma at my new house onto a plasterboard stud wall. I used spreadbolt anchors and used 8 of them. Easily hangs the TV off them on a cantilevered arm with any movement, cracking or slipping.

They spread out behind the plasterboard and spread the load more than normal plugs. They're great!
