Getting the ECU back in

Some silly fool left his lights on at Donnington Park on Sunday, and so had to get a jump start to get it going again. Managed to get into the battery compartment, pull out the ECU, attach the jump leads and get it all going again, but...

when he tried to put it all back together, he simply couldn't get the ECU and all its cables back into the compartment! (It's currently floating around in the passenger foot well!)

Any hints and tips about how to get it back in???

I find the same technique as stuffing stuff into a wardrobe and then quickly shuting the doors to hold everything in is the usual route but just replace the wordrobe doors with the footwell end trim
Try moving the ECU around 90 degrees a few times it fits better in only one attitude

I shall try that when I get back tomorrow afternoon.

I'll just hope there aren't any sensitive parts in the ECU eh...

I'm surprised there aren't any fixing mechanisms for the ECU I've yet to accelerate so hard that the resulting g-force causes it to end up on my passenger's lap!

Just make sure you...err...push it well in otherwise you'll end up with less leg space.

It should slide into the gap between the battery box and the transmission tunnel.
