Hi all, I have a celica st205 wrc import. A while ago i managed to wrap it! this cost me around 500 to replace neccessary suspension components. However ever since the accident the car handles like a bag of shat. Its fine in a straight line until u reach over 70 then it feels very twichy and tries to kill you when throwing into corners. Any ideas what is causing this??? I dnt want to throw money away having parts fitted that aint needed.

could be any one of a million things. chassis could be bent, meaning suspension points are misaligned, steering rack buggered, etc. You need to take it to someone who really knows these cars and will tell you straight if its screwed. where are you based?

I'm uneasy with a 205 GT4 WRC.

On fast, sweeping right handers, all feedback goes, as though it were on ice.

In all other respects, it's rock hard and handles well.

I discovered the previous owner had a front tyre disintegrate at an indicated 165 mph and the wing on that side is not a perfect fit. Bothers from that, maybe.

Toyauto in Nottingham, Ian's his name. Before you go there, worth checking wheels, balancing, 4 wheel laser alignment etc. Could be more serious than suspension, I.e. Racks and shaft, but equally could be simple misalignment and balancing.

If you've replaced the suspension and HAVEN'T had a full alignment & geometry done then that is most likely your cause. Tis also one of the cheaper things to do so fingers crossed that that's the cause.

If you're running the same wheels too as when you crashed then I would get them re-balanced also.
