Does a Mondeo make an odd noise on turning?
Discussion
It's done it much more so when cold, and when turning the wheel at slow speeds or at standstill. It kind of sounds like a metallic screech noise. Not too loud but easily noticeable.
Thought it might be the PAS pump, but someone i spoke to said it was normal.
Any ideas?
2004 ST220 if it matters.

I'll check the PS level this weekend too.
To best describe the noise, i found this on youtube;

Ok so its a diff make model and type etc but its the same noise but a higher pitch, and i dont notice it when the car is doing more than 6 or 7 mph.

Drive belt slip, or some catastrophic failure of the pump. More likely the former. Could also be wheel bearing or spline wear which is cancelled out when warm, but unlikely.
Do the maintenance bit first and check the fluid level and have the drive belt checked/changed.
That Type R video sounds like a knackered wheel bearing causing disc to hub interference or diff bearing shaft to case interference. Most modern FWDs have an interim bearing between the diff and the front driver's wheeel to counteract torque steer, it can perish too and give off shaft to casing sounds. Result of too many fast right-lock getaways usually...
